1989 Born in Seversk
1994-1995 Started to play chess and to follow my father’s vision of an education programme (didn’t go to school).
1997 Beginning of professional chess life
1998 Won the World Championship among girls under 10
2000 Started to give simultaneous exhibitions and promote chess at different events, in different cities and later in different countries
2004 Became a Women International Master
2005 Started to play for teams in different chess leagues (Russian, French and Chinese)
2007 Won the World Championship among girls under 20; Became a Women International Grandmaster
2008 Participated in the Women’s World Cup; began university studies in Tomsk and Qingdao
2010 Shared 6th–9th place in the Russian Women’s Superfinal; qualified for the final of the Women’s World Blitz Championship
2014-2015 Continued work on projects started during the fellowship at Akademie; gave a TED Talk
2015 Met my husband; returned to playing in chess tournaments and began assisting him in his work, including on his books.
2020 Began studies at the Université de Strasbourg
2022 Graduated from the diploma programme “Contemporary Artist – photography, video documentary and storytelling” at the Rodchenko School of Photography and Multimedia
2022 - present – Majoring in German studies in the language department of the Université de Strasbourg; trying to develop personal creative projects while helping my husband with his work; occasionally taking part in chess events as a player or as a freelance photo journalist
